“MANAGING TRANSITIONS”
 
We have experienced more change in the past 30 years than in the 5,000 years preceding, and that rate is still increasing.  Change can be hard and many individuals become overwhelmed with the process of transition and are unable to manage effectively.
Whether someone is going through a death, divorce, organizational change or another transition, everyone will experience a psychological and physiological reaction.   The intensity and duration of this process will vary, but strong emotions can keep people stuck in a rut with little motivation to move forward.
Gudrun delivers an eye opening, engaging, and interactive session on how to navigate the process of change, and how to support and motivate others.
 
 
Objectives:

  • Understand the natural psychological process of change and how to navigate the thoughts and feelings during this process.
  • Look at your "change personality" and how it affects your ability to change.
  • Explore ways to become more positive and engaged in times of change.
  • How to support others who are struggling with change.  
 
 
“MANAGING STRESS AND BUILDING RESILIENCY” 
 
Stress is statistically at an all time high and people are unaware of the many options available to eliminate or cope with stress effectively. There are factors that contribute to the quality of our mental health and our individual resiliency, which will be explored in this session. Gudrun’s workshop is jam packed with plenty of take aways’ and fun.  It will leave everyone in the room feeling more relaxed and confident that they can manage the stress in their lives and build up their resiliency.
 
 
Objectives:

  • Understand the science behind how stress works on the body, mind and spirit.
  • Explore factors that contribute to resiliency.
  • Look at individual stressors, including the difficult personalities in your life.
  • Explore a strategy to change the thinking patterns that contribute to stress.
  • Examine best strategies for coping with stress and being able to bring your body back to a sense of calm.
 
 
 
“COMMUNICATING FOR SUCCESS”
 
Feeling comfortable communicating thoughts and feelings at home and work are crucial for healthy relationships, and the ability to achieve goals and feel confident. However, communication seems to be a hazard in many relationships.  Different communications styles, perceptions and a lack of effective skills can cause misunderstandings and frustration. This workshop will explore effective communication skills and inspire individuals to comfortably express thoughts and ideas and listen with compassion and empathy.
This workshop gives you hands on listening practice.
 
Objectives:
 
  • Understand the different communication styles.
  • Reduce the fear when communicating with someone who has a different style of communication than you.  
  • Look at why listening is the most powerful tool in relationships.
  • Examine communication roadblocks.  
  • Learn ways to express yourself effectively in order to get your point across.
 
 
 
“FAIR FIGHTING”
 
Conflict is a part of all organizations and households.  For many individuals conflict is uncomfortable and often avoided causing unresolved issues and potentially resentment. This workshop will help eliminate the fear of conflict leaving participants with a solid understanding of how conflict arises, how to be more comfortable addressing issues, and learn a highly effective strategy to address issues with anyone.  
 
 
Objectives:
 
  • Look at beliefs that contribute to issues surrounding conflict resolution.
  • Identify conflict personality.
  • Understand the destructive nature of gossip and ongoing negativity.
  • Provide model for deciding which conflict style to use in different situations.
  • Explore an effective communication tool to address issues with another individual or with groups.
  • Know when to walk away.
 
 
 
“RETRAIN YOUR BRAIN FOR “ GOOD”
 
 Negative words and images are a big part of the every day communication we hear from the outside world, and the statements we often tell ourselves.  Depression and anxiety can be the result of all of this negative thinking. Gudrun provides a fascinating presentation on how to retrain your brain for GOOD, by providing participants strategies to retrain their brains to respond to life with a more optimistic outlook.  The results of this new thinking are less stress, less conflict, better relationships, and improved overall health.

“CAREGIVER BURNOUT’ 
 
It is common for caregivers to care for everyone else and put themselves on the back burner.   The mindset is clear and Gudrun hears it all the time: “There is no time for me to take care of myself. “ “If I don’t take care of it, it won’t get done.” “I don’t feel like I can say no.”
 
Whether you are putting all your energy into raising kids, working, caring for an aging parent, there needs to be time and energy in your schedule to take care of your own needs.  Gudrun’s session will help you discover how to make yourself a priority and how it will benefit the people you live and work with. She will motivate you to take time for yourself, working through the guilt that accompanies these decisions. This engaging and compassionate workshop  will leave participants with a renewed sense of hope and energy.
 
Objectives:

  • Understand the emotional, cognitive, physical and behavioural symptoms associated with caregiver burnout.
  • Look at the perspectives that lead to frustration, stress and burnout.
  • Learn strategies to communicate effectively to others when you are going to make a change to your schedule.
  • Explore how to know when you are doing enough and how to let go of the guilt when you feel as though you are not doing enough.
  • Review strategies for coping in difficult times when you are unable to make a change.

“INTEGRITY AT WORK” 
 
Negativity, gossip and disengagement are words that are commonly associated with work environments resulting in a lack of productivity, contributing to absenteeism, stress and conflict.
The session is formatted with great content and facilitated in a fun and relaxing environment bringing participants closer together for a greater understanding of why integrity is so important.  

 
Objectives:

  • Understanding why professionalism and integrity are important for all individuals in the workplace.
  • Recognize what integrity looks and feels like.
  • Looking at difficult behaviours that contribute to negativity in the workplace.
  • Tools for communicating effectively when there is stress and conflict.
  • Learn to look at individual accountability.
