Why can it feel uncomfortable to make the first step to call a counsellor?
Because there is still a stigma to mental health issues and some individuals believe it is a sign of weakness to ask for help. It can be a bit scary. It is however, a sign of strength to ask for help. We do not always have the kind of support we need in our friends and family and are not equipped with the understanding and tools to fix the issues completely on our own, so obtaining effective support is key to feeling better. Feelings of anxiousness are completely normal prior to a first session for some individuals, but Gundi prioritizes putting individuals at ease the moment they walk through the door.
How much do sessions cost?
Gudrun provides services based on her education, training, and experience and has made a commitment to provide affordable treatment for those in need of mental health services. Her fees are a reflection of this.

What is a sliding scale?
A sliding scale is a system used to determine a reasonable cost of payment for the client based on her /his ability to pay for service. It is primarily used for people who do not have the resources to access mental health services easily. Please make request via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or the information request form.
Are sessions covered by insurance?
Gudrun will provide a receipt for services that may be covered under some group health insurance benefits. Please check in advance if this is a necessity for you. My registration- Canadian Professional Counselling Association – Member #1850.
What is the best way to contact Gudrun?
Contact Gudrun through her online contact form or email at email@example.com. You can also call Gudrun at 613-331-1000, but she cannot take your call if she is in a client session or on the line, so please leave her a brief message as to when a good time might be to call you back. She will respond to messages within 24 hours, unless she is away on vacation, which will be noted on her email or message machine.
How do I pay for my appointments?
Payment must be made by the time of the scheduled appointment by using email transfer, cash or cheque in advance of sessions.
What if I need to cancel?
You may cancel sessions up to 24 hours before without any recourse. Due to the demand for sessions and available appointments, Gudrun will ‘generally’ not reimburse payment with 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment.
Are the sessions confidential?
YES, unless you provide written consent otherwise, or you disclose your intent to hurt yourself or someone else. Your sessions are intended to allow you to discuss, disclose information that will allow you and Gundi to work through issues in the most safe and effective way.
